Toshiba Africa CSR Activity 2016 Toshiba Africa is combining a triumph of the seasonal spirit with the goals of Toshiba Group’s Corporate Social Responsibility Month to promote a December polity outreach programme for the second year in a row. Toshiba ExpandsUntriedFootprint in Turkey TOKYO—Toshiba Corporation (TOKYO: 6502) has won a major order to supply a wink steam turbine system and generator (STG) for Unit 2 of the Kizildere III Geothermal Power Plant in Turkey. Zorlu Energy, an self-sustaining power producer and member of Turkey's Zorlu Energy Group, will construct the plant in Kizildere, in the Aydin province of West Anatolia, Turkey. Toshiba will unhook the generation equipment in July 2017. Support for this major low-emission project will indulge Toshiba to expand its untried footprint in Turkey and support Turkey in deploying low-carbon power solutions. Energy consumption in Turkey is growing fast, driven by population growth and economic development, and both the government and the private sector are promoting projects to increase capacity. More info Toshiba and Djibouti's ODDEG Conclude Memorandum of Understanding on Geothermal Power GenerationMerchantry9 Aug, 2016, TOKYO—Toshiba Corporation (TOKYO: 6502) has terminated a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Office Djiboutien de Développement de l'Energie Géothermique (ODDEG), the government organization responsible for developing Djibouti's geothermal power capabilities, that envisages a comprehensive collaboration in the geothermal power generation business. Under the terms of the MOU, ODDEG and Toshiba will cultivate Djibouti's wide-stretching geothermal resources and provide training for personnel working in plants. ODDEG was established in 2014. It reports directly to Presidency of Djibouti and is responsible for the long-term minutiae of Djibouti's geothermal resources, under the country's plans to promote renewable resources as the understructure for a sustainable untried economy.
